An International Prospective Open-label, Randomized, Phase III Study Comparing 177Lu-PSMA-617 in Combination With SoC, Versus SoC Alone, in Adult Male Patients With mHSPC Not Recruiting

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 177Lu-PSMA-617 in combination with Standard of Care, versus Standard of Care alone, in adult male patients with mHSPC. In this study, the SoC is defined as a combination of Androgen Receptor Directed Therapy + Androgen Deprivation Therapy. Approximately 1126 patients will be randomized in this study. As of 31-Jan-2024, 1144 participants have been enrolled in 20 countries.

The purpose of this study is to compare whole body magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, whole body positron emission tomography (PET)/MR imaging, and (if available) PET/Computed Tomography (CT) imaging for the diagnosis of tumors in children and young adults. Accurate measurements from a non-invasive test like myocardial perfusion positron emission tomography/ computed tomography (PET/CT) may decrease the need for invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization.The investigators wish to see if the measurements from cardiac catheterization can be predicted using a non-invasive 13N-NH3 digital PET/CT scan.

Development of Radiation Free Whole Body Magnetic Resonance (MR) Imaging Technique for Staging Children With Cancer Recruiting
More
A research study on the diagnosis of spread of disease for children who have been diagnosed with solid tumors using a new whole body imaging technique and a new MR contrast agent (ferumoxytol). Standard tests that are used to determine the extent and possible spread of a child's disease include magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, computed tomography (CT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) as well as bone scanning, and metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scanning. The purpose of this study is to determine if newer imaging tests referred to as whole body diffusion-weighted MR and whole body PET/MR can detect the extent and spread of the disease as accurately or even better as the standard tests (CT, MR and/or PET/CT). The advantage of the new imaging test is that it is associated with no or significantly reduced radiation exposure compared to standard CT and PET/CT imaging tests. The results of whole body MR and PET/MR will be compared with that of the conventional, standard imaging studies for tumor detecting.

The purpose of this study is to learn about the feasibility and safety of using Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) before and after surgical removal of a tumor. PRRT treatment is based on the administration of a radioactive product, 177-Lu DOTA-0-Tyr3-Octreotate (Lutathera®) and its use before and after surgery is thought to increase the overall survival benefit for patients with SSTR-positive gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors GEP-NETs.

My primary interest is to understand the flow of information from the genome to the phenotype of an organism. This interest includes predicting the structure and function of genes and proteins from their primary sequence, predicting function from structure simulating protein folding and ligand docking, and predicitng disease from genome variations. These goals are the same as the goals of molecular biology, however, we use primarily computational approaches.

Research Interests
We study the molecular mechanisms by which chromatin-signaling networks effect nuclear and epigenetic programs, and how dysregulation of these pathways leads to disease. Our work centers on the biology of lysine methylation, a principal chromatin-regulatory mechanism that directs epigenetic processes. We study how lysine methylation events are generated, sensed, and transduced, and how these chemical marks integrate with other nuclear signaling systems to govern diverse cellular functions.

My current interest includes two principal areas:

1. The molecular basis for diseases in which the pathway of transcription-coupled DNA repair is defective, including Cockyne syndrome (CS) and UV-sensitive syndrome (UVSS). Patients are severely sensitive to sunlight but get no cancers. See Hanawalt & Spivak, 2008, for review.

2. Transcription arrest by guanine-rich DNA sequences and non-canonical secondary structures. Transcription collisions with replication forks.
